OUCH!!

I got incredibly sunburned this week. I now realise that pink is not my colour. It hurts a great deal and is all my own fault for falling asleep in the sun sitting in a chair in our garden. I should have used sun lotion I know but you have to learn the hard way sometimes.

OUCH!!!!

I am away for this weekend so will probably miss most if not all of the Live 8 stuff. I should probably be disappointed but Im not really.

I can still remember 1985 and Live Aid very clearly as if it were yesterday. Now that was when it was an original idea and never seen before!! Now it all seems a bit kind of staged and not too much of a ‘winging it’ kind of feel.

Still, its all in a good cause I suppose. Bob Geldof is a great bloke I reckon. He says what he thinks and he says it well. When he speaks people listen!! Lets hope the G8 leaders listen and take note……who wants to bet the Americans are not moved?……sorry to any yanks who may read this!! I have some good friends who are American and I love them but even they would admit that American politics is very self centered stuff.

God bless America!! and all the other nations that He created too. Its a good job God loves us cos’ without Him, we are stuffed basically. If you’ve never given your life to Him, do it today.

Anyway, speak soon.

Been a while I know…..

Im back. I know its been a while but you know how busy life is these days!!

Been watching a bit of Wimbledon and felt really sorry for that kid Andy Murray. He came so close to knocking out the Argentinian bloke but fell short because he ran out of steam at the wrong time. I reckon he will be a future champion but I allowed myself to get into the match too much and when he was 2 sets up I though he was going to do it so was shouting at the TV a lot when he started throwing it away!!

Anyway, on a lighter note, it’s less than 8weeks till we go off to Ecuador and plans are going well. We are having a talent show on 9th July at Light Hall School, Shirley from 7pm. Tickets are £2 if you’re interested.

Well, speak to you soon

Hmmmmm….

Hmmmmmm….it’s really weird but I am finding it really hard to write on my blog lately.

I think I may have blog writers block….if that’s a real ailment! I could talk to you about all sorts of stuff but hey, you wouldn’t really be too interested.

Been to Nando’s tonight and remembered not to have HOT!! Medium is hot enough so didn’t get burned out mouth!!!!

We are currently having our garden re designed which is looking cool! Should be finished this week and will then be able to have BBQ etc in the summer evenings. We can watch the bats fly round as the darkness draws in!!

Anyway, only 8 weeks till we go to Ecuador and Im really excited now. However, I know that it will come and go really quickly so I am happy to wait.

Speak to you soon

After the event….

Whenever you spend a considerable amount of time working on something or towards something, there is always a void when it has passed. However, to be honest, I am still trying to work out what really happened at our Tent event last week. I’ll try and explain.

Over the 4 days that we were open, several hundred young people came through the Tent door to check out what was happening.

Tommy Baker

For some, they would have seen DJ Speedo mixing away with his 2 DJ disciples -DeeJay Ladylush and DeeJay Ladyplay. For others it would have been Tommy Baker; world record holding basketball spinning champion; star of Nike adverts and doer of the impossible trick!! For still others they may have caught Steve Legg who is a magician and escapologist and very humourous too. Some may have simply been drawn in by pool table or by the playstations or by the fact they could purchase, among other things, a Pot Noodle.

However, at the same time they will have heard many of the people already mentioned and still others, talk about their own personal relationship with Jesus Christ. What impact does that have?

Saturday night saw us baptising 5 young people in the tent. Throughout the evening, over 50 young people, all non-church- stayed in, gripped by what they saw and heard. Testimonies from other young people that were real and down to earth (as well as being rooted in Heaven of course). Stories of God changing and enhancing lives and bringing hope where there was no hope.

That has to have an affect on people even young people who are being brought up without God being talked about and in a society that is even getting rid of Gideon Bibles from hospitals in case they cause offence!!!!!!!! Jesus, by His Holy Spirit, was present in the Tent with us. You could sense it.

Someone said to me how they could almost sense how unhappy satan was at the proceedings cause he was about to get a good kicking (in a spiritual sense) and that he did!!

I believe we will see many come to know Jesus as a personal saviour becuase He is alive and He is real and He is knocking on your door and if you open it, He’s gonna come in and sort out your life.

TENT EVENT 2005……A MASSIVE SUCCESS I RECKON!!
