Ecuador here we come….

Ecuador – flag

It’s only 2 weeks and  5 days till our team heads off to Ecuador.

We are going out to work with HCJB at Shell, deep in the Amazon rainforest. We will be there to serve the work at the hospital through maintenence and labour etc and also to take the Gospel into some of the outlying villages and towns.

It’s well exciting and going to be a great experience.

Check out www.hcjb.org to find out more about the work in Ecuador.

I was really up for trying to eat Guinea Pig out there cos’ they do eat it apparently. However, the more I have seen images of cooked Guinea Pig, the less I want to try it….but I am sure I can manage a taster!!

YUM???

See you soon

Revival Town; That’s what they’re calling this place now…

GOD IS GOOD! ‘ALL THE TIME’…ALL THE TIME! ‘GOD IS GOOD’……without a doubt.

Hi

Amazing stuff is happening amongst young people here in Shirley, Solihull. They are becoming Christians in what seems like revival like ways.

Jesus Christ is making Himself known to them and they are responding to the call to give their lives to Him. 3 young ladies tonight and others in previous weeks, all of whom are teenagers and all of whom are not from Christian families. Its flipping amazing. Praise God!!#

We are really sensing something amazing brewing in the heavenly places as we meet together with these guys on Tuesdays. Its awesome. God is great!

The other side of course is that there is an enemy of God and Christians and, indeed, all humankind. The devil is not liking what is going in at all and tonight, one lad was mugged on his way home from the Bridge. We see this is a blatant plot of the enemy to bring division and take away glory from God which is what he always tries to do. But, we are not going to let that happen. It just makes it more clear that God is moving and that, for the enemy, it’s coming towards finishing off time.

With the authority we have in the name of Jesus as Christians and followers of Jesus Christ, we state that we are not afraid of the devil nor his demons and in fact we believe fully that we are going to see him royally kicked through prayer and an increase in faith. The Kingdom of God is at hand…..prepare ye the way of the Lord.

Ive just been re-reading a book by Pete Grieg called awakening cry. Its well good and very much an inspiring read. Get hold of a copy and read it. Also check out his other book, Red Moon Rising, all about the 24-7prayer movement.

COME ON!!

Yep indeedy….

Its me again. No real revelations to share and nothing much to write home about happening but, Im glad to be alive!

Id rather be alive than not I suppose although, as a Christian and  follower of Jesus Christ, I believe that when I die I will be in a much more incredible and exciting place called Heaven.

In the Bible, the apostle Paul said this’…for me to live is Christ and to die is gain…’. Basically its great if Im alive and its even better if Im dead. I trust that God is looking after me and, in fact , I am invincible until God decides otheriwse.

AMEN!!

Is it cool , calm and sophisticated in here….or is it just me?

2 things about TV today I want to say.

First is how sad is the TRISHA programme!! I cannot stand it . However I find it hard to watch at the same time as I find it strange that vulnerable poeple are used to make a tv programme that sets out to ‘help with their problems’. I find myself shouting at the TV. God help us when we have sunk this low!!

Then there is Big Brother. Another programme that, if I start to

watch, I get hooked and yet I hate it!

Its says a lot when you have millions of people viewing confessing homosexuals, sex starved people, models, bitchy women, bitchy men, those with image problems, weirdo’s etc etc etc. Why oh why?

Im sure God doesnt find it hard to turn off from it. God is passionate about all of the contestants in the Big Brother house and the ones who appear on Trisha and, believe it or not, Trisha herself.

He loves them all and me too, and you with a passion that we cannott or will find hard to understand. The truth is where they are confessing and laying bare their problems and insecurities on TV, God is calling out and knocking on the door saying come to me and I will set you free totally from your fears and your naff lives.

Its what Ive found to be true and I now watch these programmes with sadness for these people that the One they most need to know and turn to, is the one they turn their back on.

Let God into your life. He really does only bring good stuff. The Bibles says that ‘ ..every good and perfect thig comes from God..’ I believe it cos’ Ive experienced it.

Come on

I suppose its a statement on the state of humanity….

Isnt it sad that things like the bombings in London today happen? Its hard to understand how anyone can purposely plant a bomb knowing that people are going to get hurt or killed and have no way of getting out of the way.

It was horrific to see the news unfolding throughout the day and thinking about the families of those who have lost their lives. Then there are those who must have wondered of their loved ones had been killed and worried till they found they were still alive.

However, we must realise that we live in a world where mankind is bent on destruction and a desire for revenge becuase of sin. God made us a perfect creation but sin made that all change.

Instead we find ourselves separated from God and thus we see all this rubbish around us. The great news is though that we can get close to God again through Jesus Christ. Thats what Christianity is all about.

The truth is that we are called to pray for those who have been hurt and those who have caused the hurt. God loves both the bomber and the victim in the same way and with the same amount of passion. It is not for us to pass judgement on anyone who carried out these atrociuous bombings but instead we can know that God is a fair judge and He will have the last say. In deed, if any of us is separated from God through sin, we should ask His forgiveness and receive His Love and acceptance.

The leaders of the 8 largest economies in the world are gathered here in the uk to deal with incredibly big subjects like making poverty history and yestreday was all smiled cos we got the Olymipcs. Those seemed to be the important things and yet today its all in focus. The fragilty of life and the need to be right with God cos’ no one knows when they will be standing before God for judgement.

Pray with me….

Dear God

Forgive me of my sins. Cleanse me and make me new. Help me to live as You want me to live. Help me to love my fellow man as You love them and help me not to be too ready to condemn anyone. You are a fair judge so help us to know that we will all be judged fairly by You one day and then no one can hide. I realise that in all the wrong things I think and do I can separate myself from You so please accept this prayer God and bring me closer as I recieve Your forgivness. Thank You. AMEN

Yeeeeessssssssss!!

London celebrates

What a great day yesterday as we won the olympics from the French!! I had only popped home to pick up something to take back to the office when I heard on the radio that it was only us and Paris left in it. I turned on the tv and found myself getting nervouse and excited. Then the president of the IOC took the envelope and opened it after loads of  faff and when he said the….”the city of…” there was an intake of breathe and then he said…”London!”

At first it seemed like it hadnt registered with anyone cos’ there was this pause. I was thinking he was going to say Paris. All of a sudden there was a a realisation what had just been said and everyone went crazy. I found myself shouting in my living room and really feeling a bit emotional. This is massive for this country and I must admit to feeling a little sorry for the Parisians….only a little though.

Its been pretty good between us and the French for a while and all of a sudden we have had so many things that have caused offence being brought out into the open.

First there was the disagreement between Tony Blair and Jaques Chirac over EU subsidies etc. Blair sorted him out after his own people voted against the EU constitution leaving the French government in pieces.

Then we have the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar when Lord Admiral Horatio Nelson whooped the French on the sea. I was down ion Portsmouth this past Saturday and wnet on the HMS Victory ( Nelsons Ship) and it was a great sight and something Id always wnted to go n since I was a little kid. However a few days previous there had been the re-enactment of Trafalgar but they wouldnt have us verses the French. They had to have Blue vs Red to be politically correct. Its ridiculous! We won the thing. That will never change so why hide it. Lets enjoy it.

I heard that actually the re-enactment didnt quite go to plan….France have taken Plymouth!!

Then we had yesterdays anouncement about the Olympics followed by the G8 leaders arriving in Gleneagles, Scotland. Jacques Chirac having to face Tony Blair after the Olympic vote only a few hours before. I wonder if Tony Blair kept a straight face or did he dress all in LONDON 2012 gear and rub it in!!! I know which I would have done.
