Last night we had a great gathering at X-Stream. About 25 young people gathered to worship God and hear a talk about meekness.

I don’t know what images that conjures up for you but it was an awesome time and I totally believe that God was there too!!!! As we worshipped there was a real sense that God was moving and that He was challenging us about our lifestyles and how we are living.

Jesus cliamed that He was the Light of the World - JOHN 8 vs 12 (The Bible) but He also said that we are the light of the world - read this passage from Matthew 5 vs 14 - 16

“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

We need to allow Jesus to shine through our lives and out to the world. Light always illuminates dark places and shows up the ‘bad stuff’. This means that it can be very uncomfortable for people when they have this light shone into their lives. We have loads of stuff we need to put right with Almighty God!

The words of the Matt Redman song come to mind - ‘You must increase and I must decrease Lord’. More of God and less of me has to be the equation for life to be lived as God wants. Then I believe we’ll see society changed to reflect the Glory of God.

COME ON!!!!!!

ps. A quick recommendation of a book to read  -  The Vision & The Vow by Pete Grieg. Get it and read it and be challenged!!!!

The words of this song are so true. So often I find myself really thinking that there is so much in God that we are missing. I have come to realise that the world and even the church, when it becomes a bit of a chore, is so un-inspiring compared to the things that God has for us.

I feel it’s time we started cyring out to God a whole lot more and seeking His desire for us more and more. I know that He has so much of love for the community around us and He chooses us to go and impart that love to the the people so that they can respond to God and know His purposes for their lives too.

God is great but we often miss His presence and settle for second best a lot of the time. THERE MUST BE MORE THAN THIS!!!
