Well, we held our (probably last) Bonfire Night Bonanza on Friday night at the Bridge. Its our last due the Bridge almost certainly being bulldozed next year to make way for the new Shirley development. We have a new building that is rapidly going up and will be open (at least the 1st phase) before Christmas.
The event is amazing in that we run a bonfire and display for around 300 people that is both entertaining and quality…..in our opinion. We are not pyrotechnic experts by a long shot but it seems to work safely and provide great fun for the watching public.
Tim and Andy plan the event really well with Tim masterminding the music and firework order. It always seems that we are able to set them off to the music when in reality its very random and yet works so well.
Our final fireworks this year were the real deal and, I have to be honest, when they went off I did for a moment consider that we had set fire to the Bridge or the Scout Hut next door! I recalled Tims words the day before when he remarked, “There is no label on these ones so they must be good!”….how right he was.
Anyway, maybe we havent quite seen the last of the bonfire bonanza…..where there’s a will there’s a way….mwah ha ha ha!!
