…I am currently tracing my family tree which is something I have been meaning to start for years but never got round to it. It is incredible what you can find out etc about family members who have been dead for over 100 years!
From at least 1841, the Holmes family originated from Freeby which is a little village in Leicestershire. I havent yet found any one with a job more interesting that Agricultural Labourer….I guess I will always be a pleb!! …but I love that. Working class till I die!!! Amen
I wish my dad was still alive to hear what I find out. He would have loved it! I realised this week that there are so many things we take for granted a lot of the time and one of those things is so often family and parents etc. I was driving the other day and thinking of all the things I wish I had said or done with my dad before he died.
It wasnt some morbid or wallowing kind of thing but rather a kind of self-help, counselling session ….whilst driving!! I t made me realise though, that we need to look out for each other a lot more and be interested in each others needs and preferences etc. “Love one another, as I have loved you” said Jesus.
He gave His life for us!
